- China is forever linked to its ancient civilization, friendly
people, and many of the worlds most revered treasures, such as The Great
Wall, Terra-Cotta Warriors & Horses and the Yangtze River. Today, one can
also find spectacular architecture and towering skylines in Shanghai and
Beijing (site of the 2008 Summer Olympics), a wealth of luxury accommodations
and as always exquisite cuisine.
- Tourism in China is a booming industry. In the year 2002, a total of 97.91
million people visited China and China's international tourism revenue was 20.4
billion U.S. dollars. It has become one of the fastest growing sectors for
China's economy.
- The China National Tourist Office (CNTO), is an overseas office whose
headquarter is in Beijing.
- Now, China is fast on its way to becoming a country with developed tourism,
and constantly improving tourism facilities and services. It is estimated that,
